Elementary Math Specialists

Emerald Education, Inc. (EE) is a women-owned minority business based in Durham, NC.

We customize solutions for complex issues and problems including curriculum design and development.   


Job Details:

2 Positions: 1 Full-Time, salaried, 1 Part-Time.

Remote positions

Hiring Range Full Time Equivalent: $44,000 - $60,000 a year

 

The Opportunity:

Emerald Education seeks Elementary Math Specialists for complex and exciting mathematics curriculum development and implementation projects. 


The Elementary Math Specialist will engage in a highly creative, iterative, and collaborative development process and revise/write K-5 lessons that are rigorous, engaging, and meaningful to students. Participate in the development and revision of grades K-5 mathematics curriculum lessons/units, including the creation/revision of culturally relevant lesson plans and student facing materials that support the development of conceptual understanding, procedural fluency in elementary mathematics, and STEM while attending to students’ social and emotional learning.


The Specialist will also develop and provide implementation support and professional learning sessions, both digitally (remote) and at times, in-person. Specific responsibilities and skill/experience requirements are detailed below. 


Perform other duties as assigned.


Some travel may be required (10-15%).


Required Skills and Orientations:

  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field: Elementary Education, Mathematics Education, or related area. 
  • Classroom experience teaching at the elementary level 
  • Experience developing curricular resources 
  • Knowledge of K-5 standards’ progressions and their influence on curricular resources
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Experience with instructional design
